Arthroscopy is performed through small incisions of around one centimetre. A tiny camera and fine instruments let the surgeon see inside the joint and treat the problem directly.
Smaller incisions mean less pain, barely visible scars and a quicker return to daily life, and most patients go home the same day.
When is it needed?
- Meniscus tears in the knee
- Cruciate ligament injuries
- Rotator cuff tears or recurrent shoulder dislocation
- Loose bodies or inflamed joint lining
What to expect

Recovery
Most patients return to desk work within one to two weeks. Return to sport depends on what was repaired inside the joint.
